I have been reading my bible for years but not as seriously as these past couple of years.
I started reading my bible more seriously after my step dad died, but almost daily when my mom died.
I would read one Psalm and one bible chapter daily until Psalm was done then I would read one Proverbs and one bible chapter per day until Proverbs was finished then it was just one bible chapter per day. I also would read my daily devotions.
Yesterday morning I read my last chapter, I have read the entire bible! I feel so good that I did this. For me it started as discipline but became a ritual I looked forward to each morning and felt really guilty if I missed a morning.
I would check off the chapter I read and if it was a really long chapter I may at times break it into two days and mark where I left off. I also checked in the front of my book which ones I had read.
Now what to do you ask? Well like I told Mickey this past weekend there is so much more to learn and now I want to really break it down and understand more of what I read. I am going to pick up a book to help me study the bible.
I feel very accomplished this was a big thing for me. I know several have read the bible maybe twice or more and maybe not a big deal for them but it is for me.
I look forward to drill into the Word much further.
Check back in a day or two I will share "our mom's day" this past weekend.
Hugs,
Tania
