We celebrated our mom's day this past weekend since Tommy has plans for Erica. Erica seemed concerned to ask me that but I was totally OK with that. I told her I had a lot of mom's days with my girls now it's your turn.
She is finding now as mother's day is approaching she may not get "her" day with Tommy and Mickey because Tommy's mom is making a lot of noise over it. Oh my do I remember those days! Poor girl, hold strong!!!
Our fun mom's day started on Saturday afternoon when Mickey and Erica came over after a birthday party.
For $12 we picked a lot of berries. We had our cakes then divided them up. You have to eat them quick as they go bad fast. I sure wish I knew how to can.
That evening we had dinner on the deck and a little later a fire in the pit. Mickey told us a scary story while Erica made us all some s'mores.
I went back up to the house that night to get a glass of wine and on my way down in the dark on the long staircase to the back yard I missed the last step and fell and hit a big root! I have on my right knee a cut and a huge bruise and also on my right foot. Mr. Man came running over to see if I was OK he thought I might of broke something. I said I was fine but I didn't spill a drop of wine!
Sunday morning Erica and I were set off to climb Stone Mountain but I couldn't walk very good. I feel my knee maybe off kilter. And she is still going through some pain from her accident when some rear ended her last month so we ended up not going.
That afternoon we made some pizza's for lunch, ate on the deck again. I can't tell you enough how beautiful the weather was! Perfect!
After lunch we did do some painting on canvas to add to my family collection and Erica and I painted a shadow box I picked up in MN while Mickey painted an elephant bank. Mr. Man was our photographer.
Then we did some playing. It started out I was kicking a ball around with Mickey but that didn't work so well because of my knee, couldn't kick and couldn't run. So Erica pulled out posey pitch and we played several games of that then I recruited papa to play so I could get other things started. She had so much fun.
Before dinner, on the deck again we opened gifts. Candi sent one to me so I opened her gift to me as well. I picked up this decorated water dispenser for Erica from Mickey (I'm afraid Tommy doesn't get Erica anything as he doesn't have an income and she is such a good mom and deserves a gift on mom's day)
I bought myself a large beehive container and thought Erica would love this too since she is always making fruit infused water just in a jug so this will be pretty to look as she gets her yummy water.
We had a wonderful short weekend together...almost perfect had Candi been there too.
Love my lil family for sure.
I hope all of you mom's out there have a wonderful day like I did.
Mr. Man is taking me to the North Georgia Quilt Shop Hop today for my mom's day gift. What a sweetie I think I will keep him!
Hugs,
Tania
