I have been sick with a cold since Wednesday morning and struggling to get things done around here since I am to travel to MN this Wednesday. Well I had to put that date off, this cold is wearing me out and I don't have the energy to do much of anything.
When I have had some energy it's all on Candi's bridal shower or wedding pretty much.
I have been working on her bridal bouquet, I sure wish I could show you pictures but the reveal will be sometime in December.
Mr. Man painted pine cones and sprinkled white glitter on them for Candi's wedding, for table decor. He did a great job. I couldn't breath so it was just too much fumes for me to help out very much.
This is something I worked on while resting in my chair, the purple cover on my toilet tank.
My friend Pam took a vacation to Boston this summer and made a road trip to NH to the Keepsakes Quilt Store and brought me home this pretty purple batik fat quarter. I didn't want to cut it up and Mr. Man has been complaining a little that the jars on the toilet were rattling and we needed something under them.
I also made this crochet button an idea from Pinterest of course!
I pulled out my jean jacket which holds many of my pins and removed the quilting themed pins to put on my pin quilt. I thought I had more and I may some place in my messy creative room.
Yes it's a mess! I have been so busy I haven't had time to keep it neat, so unlike me. Oh well it will get done one day.
I hope to have a little more energy and feel better to get more done before I make the long trip to MN.
Thanks for the visit!

Tania

The Library
The other day I went to pick up a book I reserved on line and on my way in I thought to myself I wonder how many of my family and friends still use the library to check out books to read? When was the last time they were in a library?
With all the e readers, tablets and pads today maybe people aren't visiting their libraries. I have an Ipad, Mr. Man has a table and I have ordered books on my Ipad, mostly for when I travel it's more convenient since I am bringing it anyway. But also I have ordered a book on line because the library is closed and need something new to read. Also did you know, well at least my library you can borrow books for your e reader, tablet or pad?
But I tell you there is nothing like going to the library and the smell of the pages and feeling a book in your hands, at least for me.
Visit your local library so they don't be come extinct like drive in theaters and gas station attendants! Remember when someone would pump your gas and wash your windshield? I wish! I hate pumping my own gas.

Laundry Room
One of my latest projects. Painting the laundry room.
Like I said earlier, when we moved into this house everything was just put in I didn't have the energy or wasn't physically able. I was having really bad flare ups I couldn't hardly move. August was our 8 yr anniversary in this house and still never painted the laundry room.
Here are the before pictures. With the clay litter we use it took three good washing on the walls to get the clay off. This little room was a lot of work!
walls were a stark white with lots damage.
The after with everything back in place all sparkling clean. The color of the walls is a sand that we also have our main 1/2 bath color in. We had some left over so why not?
I'm so excited the way it turned out. I told Mr. Man the next room is our bathroom. That too hasn't been painted since we moved in. He groans at that cuz we have cathedral ceilings also that come to a point. I told him, rig it up for me and I will do the rest. Maybe a January project.

Feeling Accomplished!
I had a wonderful weekend! Erica and Mickey came over Friday night quite late but that was so they would be here Saturday morning.
Our day started out with Erica and I planning Candi's bridal shower and making lists, many lists. Then Mr. Man took Mickey to the Gwinnett County Fair while Erica and I shopped for the shower.
We started at a party store and ended out day at the grocery store almost 6 hours later!
We feel really good what we bought and how this is all going to look.
After dinner Erica and I made two items that we wanted to test before we would serve to the guests at the shower. We are doing a brunch shower so this was an over night egg bake we made and a pumpkin popper.
Sunday morning breakfast was very delish! It's a go! Sunday was making items for the bridal shower. Which took all day as well. But we are so excited how everything looks! I can't tell you about it cuz Candi checks into my blog every now and again but after November 15 I can share it all!
We had a very successful, fun and productive weekend.
Thanks for the visit!

Garland Valance
Today is show and tell! I have been wanting to do this for umm several years now and finally did this window! I loved how it turned out I have to stop by and look at it every time I go past my creative room.
I have another small window in my room to do but I have something very different in mind for that one.
Create, create, create!
On to something else!

Clothes Pins
I really like clothes pins, don't you? Seeing one reminds me of an old fashion summer. My mom used to hang most all of our wash in the summer. The sheets always smelled so fresh. Those were the days my mom changed our sheets daily! I'm serious, I can't imagine doing that I change mine once sometimes twice a week but every day, three beds!
The reason for this post today is I have been going through a little more than two years worth of several magazine, I got so far behind I had piles of them so I stopped all subscriptions and decided to go through one each morning. I think I have 4 or 5 left! Any way I got off track a little. As I said I was going through a magazine, Mary Jane's Farm Girl. There was an article on clothes pins. The only american clothes pin company closed in 2007 and this couple who lived on a farm noticed the cheaply made clothes pins not made in the USA and how the springs weren't as strong and sturdy, the wood wasn't as good and no protective coating on them.
Hmm I think to myself. I have a basket of clothes pin on my refrigerator I use to hang out a few thing on the line and I mostly use them as chip clips...any one else do that?
I took a look at them, I bought them at Walmart within the past 5 years so they can't be the ones made in the USA. Then I remembered out in the garage I have a pail of them, the ones I used when Mr. Man and I were first married. I compared the two and I am lucky to have some of the ones made right here in the USA. The picture above is my old original clothes pins.
Now see the comparison.
Can you guess which one is made in the USA and which is from another country? If you guess the one on the left is made here you're right. Can you see the difference?
I bet you thinking to yourself I need to take a look at my clothes pins.

Yellow Daisy Festival
We had a very busy weekend. I painted our laundry room and scrubbed the floors really good, I mean tooth brush to the base boards good.
Sunday late morning Mr. Man and I met up with Erica and Mickey at David's Bridal to pick up Mickey's flower girl dress. It fits her perfectly so she better not grow much by December.
Then the four of us had a quick lunch at Wendy's. It was so good to see them if only for a short time.
Once we went our separate ways Mr. Man and I went to Stone Mountain for the Yellow Daisy Festival. It's an out door craft show that also has many food vendors.
Here is what we bought, can you tell we were hungry only food items were brought home.
We have a spice packet to make a dip, a jar of spicy onion relish that you can eat as is or make into a dip. A multi purpose orange ginger sauce. It is low in calories, sugar and sodium so this will be great for my salads. I have been using salsa in my salads because dressing are just too fattening. Also in these cute cloth bags is powders to make yummy drinks. One is a caramel apple cider and the other honey spice chai both are delish!!!It was nice to walk around outside with the free Humana pedometers that they were giving away but it was very hot and humid.
After painting and all that walking I could hardly move Sunday night.
Did you notice I changed the appearance of my blog? I have had that same background for years and decided to go with a cleaner look...for now. I just love the picture of Minnie on my purple quilt don't you?
later!

Tania

I have had a very busy week! Making things and getting the laundry room ready to paint, that will be on a later post.
Thursday I took the day off from all this creative energy I have been fortunate to have to do a little shop therapy.
Here are my great finds!
I couldn't pass up this Longaberger basket! Great to have out this time of year as I will soon be decorating for fall.
These two doilies will be perfect for a project I have in mind. Once I have made it I will share.
I could pass up this cute pumpkin either! The shop owner of Antiques In Old Town has a blog and I follow her and she posted these cute little pumpkins.
Later that day Mr. Man and I went to Mickey's karate class. I do have to say she is really good and I'm not saying that just because I'm her Mimi. : )
My muse has been keeping me busy these days so I decided to name her Sparkle...she sparks my creative side. I hope she does stay around for a while I have had some pretty good ideas lately I just need to get them done!
Thanks for the visit!
Hugs,
Tania
