July

Mr. Man asked me the other day again "when are you going to blog again?"  He's so funny, my biggest fan.  I kinda laugh because nothing really has been going on around here that is big news I guess.  Maybe I'm in a rut?

First let me explain the picture above.  Every year around Mickey's birthday since she was born I take a picture of her and I have a very large  picture frame I put her 8 x 10 in every year she gets older and it's there until her next birthday.

Our baby turned 5 on July 3rd.  Time flies!  Wasn't my babies just 5?  She's pretty excited to be 5 because in her mind she has never been a baby.  Remember she walked at 7 months.  I keep saying she is an old soul, maybe my grandma since sometimes what comes out of her mouth is what my gma would have said!  CREEPY but I love at least the idea of it.

Anyway I took several pictures of her on our front porch I just quickly grabbed one for today's post and didn't clean it up as you can tell.  How tacky to see our alarm system sign.  I wanted our flag in it and to look Americana since her birthday is July 3rd.

Anyway back to being in a rut...Mr. Man has been home since early/mid April and I am not use to having him home 24/7 and I got out of my routine and found myself sitting around with him since he couldn't do too much.  Today he went back to work.  He was looking forward to it as much as I was but ya know I do miss him.  It was nice having him home with me, our conversation and running during the day to do quick errands.  Just as we get use to our new routine he has to go back.  So I take to my blog  he will be happy tonight.  (smiles)
So like I said Mickey had her 5th birthday and it was a Monster High year for her.  That is what we got her and Candi sent her a Monster High backpack and lunch box for school.  Needless to say she was delighted!
Mickey also joined karate this July so far she is really enjoying it.  They came over after her first class.
Erica got a deal on Groupon for lessons to see if she will like it.  Last week she tested to get her first belt, white.  My dad and sister took karate.  I remember when dad was testing for his black belt and he got kicked in the knee pretty bad.  Bad enough he went to the hospital and he had knee surgery.  I remember going to see him and how swollen his knee looked.  His knee wasn't the same after that and was advised not to continue so he never got his black belt.  My sister also tested for her black belt and failed and she never went back to retry.  Maybe Mickey will be our black belt someday.
Last Tuesday my friend Theresa posted on facebook that she had lots of blueberries and if anyone wanted some they could come over and pick.

So Wednesday morning with bucket in hand me and Mr. Man picked some blueberries.  It was a beautiful morning for a July in Georgia so picking was pleasant.  Theresa helped us and we visited and got caught up on our lives.  We had lost touch since Theresa's mom passed and I get it because I haven't been the same socially since my mom passed as well.  So it was really nice to see her and also her husband is retired so Mr. Man visited with him.
Later Theresa text me and said I forgot to ask you if you wanted tomatoes.  YES please!!!  We went back that eve to pick up a box of 15 nice home grown tomatoes, YUM!  I love tomatoes especially home grown I buy them often and eat them for a snack so I am one happy, happy girl!

Like I said Mr. Man is back at work today.  A little over a week ago he had seen a neurologist because of some issues and when he came home from his appointment I asked him what he said.  He said I was normal, HA!  I think you need a second opinion!  hehehe just kidding of course I was so thankful.  He thinks the episode at PT was because of nerves being pinched.   It's nice tho' that his spine doctor wants to be sure he isn't missing anything.  Also that week Mr. Man got two injections in his spine, they are slow releasing medications and by 7 days it should be at full effect but sometimes it takes two injections.   Last night Mr. Man said on a scale from 1-10 in feeling good he was 8.5.  I think that is pretty good and he agreed.

Erica is in Minnesota, she left Thursday night because she is to be in a wedding this past Saturday and will be there all week as another girlfriend is getting married this coming Saturday.  I on the other hand will be picking Mickey up tomorrow sometime and having her until Friday afternoon since Friday night is karate.

Mr. Man had a birthday yesterday July 20th.  I made him breakfast, we went to see the movie Tammy...funny!!!  We had a crab leg dinner at home and I made him from scratch lemon meringue pie his favorite.  I have made this pie several times over the years and it has been a hit or miss, like I said I really can't bake but he said it turned out delicious...did it?  or was he being a nice husband?  Who will know I don't eat that kind of thing.  Anyway I think he had a nice day.  Next Sunday once Erica returns we are having a small party for him.

Well I think I am caught up.  I do have some ideas that maybe coming up in my blog that I will share...if I share it may get done right?

After seeing that Theresa moved her sewing room into the basement I am very seriously thinking of doing the same, Mr. Man is so on board since he just has my walk in closet to do his stain glass this too would give him more room.

Also I need to clean out the upstairs guest closet and I need to move out all my quilt tops and finished quilts.  I also need to take a picture of all of them to record them in my book.  I have several of them in my book but not all so I thought I am just going to put them in laundry baskets take them outside and photograph each one on the clothes line and start over.  I thought also I will post a trunk show of all of my creations that I still have in my possession.

Well that's all I have today, thankfully huh?  Lots to catch up on I guess, nothing too important mostly chatter.  But I want to thank you for stopping by it truly means a lot, you are the reason I do this.  (well for me to document too)  I do this for my family and friends and friends I've never met.  Those I've never met you taking an interest in my life means a lot!

later!

Hugs,
Tania
