Wedding Brain!

It's been a while!  I didn't realize.

 Since we last visited...

I turned 50 on February 4th.  I can't believe it, isn't that my mom's age?  I don't feel 50 and honestly I don't think I look it either.  I have thought quite a bit about that statement.  Sadly I have seen people who think they are their age or "old" seem to age quicker.  The ones who have been young at heart seem to have more pep in their step so maybe that is a good thing for me!

But I do have to say a few weeks ago I did feel in my 80s as our southern weather changed to be northern weather with snow and ice and very cold temps for the south my body thought we were up north again and reminded me in a very big way that I have still have rheumatoid arthritis.  Very painful and I am really just starting to feel better.

I have had more pain in my right wrist for a while and my last visit to the Dr I told him I have lost a lot of strength in that wrist very noticeably.  He wants to do an Xray my next visit since on my last he saw a cyst on it and that maybe the culprit.  If not he said it could be "old age"  EXCUSE me!  or RA.

He suggested that I buy a Nerf ball and squeeze it daily to strengthen my hands and I have and I do already notice a positive difference.

I also made a driving trip up to MN to go to a bridal show with Candi and her future mom in law (MIL)

OMG!  It is so cold up north!  I have to admit I had a moment of weakness.  I stopped for gas on my way up, I think I was in Illinois and when I got out of my truck with only a t-shirt and hoodie on, quickly realized to put my coat on...hat...mittens!  Once I was back into the warmth I started to cry.  Really I did!  I said I can't do this I wanted so badly to turn around and go home.  But, I love my daughter!

I never could handle the cold when I lived up north and after living in the south for almost 10 years I'm even more sensitive to the cold.

I had a bit of car issues on my way.  about 100 miles from the Minnesota border my ol' gal decided no more Wisconsin hills.  She would loose speed and sputter.  I pulled off at the next exit and stopped at a BP the woman there called the local rural mechanic for me and she gave me farmers directions on how to get to his shop/home/farm.  As I was driving up his long drive way I began to think what am I doing?  I don't know this person scenarios of the Texas Chainsaw Massacre came to mind.  But I needed help.

He was such a nice man hooked my truck up and said my #5 coil was misfiring and it would be safe to drive to MN but then to get it fixed.  Luckily we have a dear friend who is a mechanic.

She never gave me another issue until I made it to Blaine, MN!!!  It was fixed the next night only a 15 minute job.  whew!

A gal driving cross country on her own don't need this!  And since I had issues with a stalker this summer I was more on edge than ever.  Mr. Man and I decided no more long trip by myself I will be flying.

I drive because I usually have so much to bring up to Candi but I think she has just about everything out of our house now except the rocker her grampa and grandma gave her which she said we can hang on to at this point.

Saturday C' (Candi) and I went shopping for wedding décor and dinner we were pretty tired out by 8 pm.

Sunday we went to the bridal show at the MPLS convention center Unveil and invited Han's mom (MIL)

So many beautiful gowns!  It was fun to see what's out there.

It was nice to get ideas from the bridal show.

Monday I was out on my own.

Tuesday Candi took the day off and we went to find her dress. Can I just say she has the most beautiful figure she can wear anything so anything she put on was wonderful but when she put on "the dress"  we just knew,  she was absolutely breath taking!  The cold temps were worth it.  She will be the most beautiful bride to date!

Wednesday afternoon I made my way to my sister's.

My sister and Darrin were married last March and they recently purchased a house in Jordan, MN.  Cute little town I don't think I have ever been there.  Lots of antique shops.
In this picture I had given Tammy her birthday present which happens to be today February 20.  Happy Birthday sis!  I gave her a little bottle of Kinky in her gift bag and she is  telling Darrin that it is pretty good!  She is funny.  I couldn't drink something like that, apparently it is very sweet.

They have a very cozy comfy home and they seem very happy there.  We had a nice quick visit as I headed out early the next morning.

My drive was pretty uneventful on the way home except through Wisconsin which it was a little icy.

It feels good to be home and in weather that is in the upper 60's and heading for the 70's.

I am leaving this morning for another trip.  My annual quilt retreat!  I will be traveling to Hiawassee, Ga in the beautiful north GA mountains.

I have several projects packed mostly bags to make for a craft show we (Mr. Man) have been talking about setting up a table at. One quilt, two mug organizers and one redwork.  I always bring one hand work so I can sit in the lobby and take a break from the machine.

I will be home again on Sunday afternoon.

So see you again next week with my fun stitchin' weekend!

Hugs,
Tania
