Feeding Time

I know I have posted about this before but it happened again today.  All four together!  I can walk into a room and all four will be in the same room but hardly ever this close.
Jewel has never been very social and Piper so badly wants to be the alpha female that no other cat wants to be around her these days.
But a little left over tuna from my sandwich will bring them together.
My kitties give me such great joy, comfort and company the are always there with me.  I am going shopping today for something new to wear on vacation and they don't like it when I am not home and when I return I will get lots of attention.
Love my kitties!

Poor Tiger

Tiger, our outdoor cat (our neighbors cat who comes to visit often) had been over to visit our kitties through the window several times over Memorial Day weekend, we always love seeing him.
There is one creature that is not happy to see Tiger, a mamma bird.  She is the most annoying bird!  Poor Tiger isn't doing anything but laying around our porch or in the drive and this bird isn't liking it one bit.  She swoops down and attacks poor Tiger.
Too bad this bird doesn't know that Tiger is old, fat and lazy and he has no interest in this birds family.
So now we know when Tiger has come over by the screams of this bird.  Wish her little birds would grow up and move out.
Poor Tiger.

Minnie and Quilt

I have started another hand quilting project.  This quilt is from our shops' block of the month program in 2009.  I was going to have it machine quilted but it had been hanging in a closet since 2009 and not done partly due to the cost of having someone machine quilt it on their long arm.
After recently hand quilting my Sassy 16 quilt and how it turned out I decided this quilt would get done a whole lot faster if I just hand quilted it myself.  It's good practice and very relaxing.
I started quilting on it a couple days ago and since our temps are a lot cooler Minnie found an opportunity to keep warm and also check out "her" new quilt.
I thought it was funny how she blends in with the colors of this quilt.
Hand quilting is fun but trying to move the quilt around with a 13# cat on it isn't.  But I love that she wants to sit with me so I can live with it.

Little Helpers

I wish I had taken a picture!  I sometimes remember too late.  I mean I do have a camera in the house, in my purse now do I  need a camera for every room?!

Any who...I made a list on Monday of things to do this week there were 11 items to do, not including my normal boring stuff like sweep, vacuum (daily cuz I have four cats) make the bed and laundry and normal stuff like clean the three bathrooms!  Oh and now don't forget to water the hanging basket of flowers out on the porch.  But I have 11 other things I wanted to get done. One was to lay out a quilt.  Well that is what I call it.  I am trying to get caught up on my projects and on my list was to lay out (def:  to sandwich the back, batting and top of the quilt to be quilted) a quilt that was the shop's B.O.M (block of the month) two years ago!

So...After piecing together the back and laying it out on my kitchen floor, the largest space without carpeting to tape down it becomes a magnet!  I swear this piece of fabric like others must, in kitty tone say here kitty kitty come sit on me!  Because all of the sudden I have three kitty butts on my backing!

I say scat cats!  They leave only until the batting comes out!  Scat cats once again, OMG  now the top  Ya know it becomes very hard to smooth out three layers when you have 34# of cat on your project.  It took an hour and one phone call with Erica on speaker to get this laid out and pin basted.    But on the upside this was my 8th to do I did!

I do have three others left on my to do list I think I can get one done, that one is to write in my journal about my MN trip...The other two I'm not sure, one is to do a shop sample and the other to do my Thimbleberries club block from last year, it is a lot not just a block really but like 100 half square triangles to piece and sew together, then sew to the quilt...then add borders, um not gonna happen!

My kitties sure love the quilts I make, if no one else appreciates them that is OK I know my girls do.

Where's Jewel?

It's like my cats can read my mind.  I am getting ready to spend the afternoon in my room and once I got everything done around the house I made my way up the stairs to my room and all four cats are waiting on me...
Minnie and Patches you can see when you walk in, took a minute but there is Piper by my sewing machine...
But where is Jewel?  Can you find her?
She is laying on the floor to the left, can you see her?

Fan On or Fan Off

I have noticed that my cats won't sleep with me when I have the ceiling fan on.
I always wondered why in the warmer months they didn't sleep with me and I figured it was because they were warm.  But I think they don't like the ceiling fan blowing on them!
I want my kitties to sleep with me but I also want the fan on also, what can I do?
Suggestion are welcomed!

Back to our normal

Susan left, Mickey is at her daddy's Mr Man is at work and it is me and my kitties alone once again and after much attention to me for a day things have settled down. Yes yes kitties you are my world, my next breath no one could ever take your place now let me sleep! My sleep is disturbed by my kitties who need love. They are saying, I love you mom, I'm your favorite remember, love me! I have four that do this. Truly and seriously I am pawed at, licked, stared at by each. They don't leave me alone until I acknowledge them and give what they need.
I am jealous as I see Mr Man sleeping like a baby but then I think I am the lucky one, they want me and only me. Life is short and I know this as I have lost the cat of my life and wish I had more time with her.

Ok y'all saying I am a sick sick woman but I have told you I AM the cat lady!

So in the above picture Jewel is in my room with me. She doesn't move too much anymore I am afraid our poor ol' girl is dying a slow but painless death. Her eyes are distant and she sleeps most of the day. I hope she goes like her sister. Another story I will post later.

Patches wasn't hard to find but she did hear me approach and gave a little meow. She is so sweet!

Minnie thinks she is hiding from me, but I know where to find her!

Piper was hard to find and I about gave up,but as I returned to my room there she was, I should know better she is never very far from me. She is my shadow.

Life is back to normal and all is good once again and until vacation I won't be leaving them anytime soon. Now as for Mr Man he is making a trip to Minnesota soon, but...sorry to say Mr. Man you're not mommy.

Please remember to visit my other blog to read about life...people life! Trip to Minnesota, Susan's visit and well just my life.

Later!

Fresh Air

The pollen is down, the temperature is up and my windows are open once again!
Last night I slept like a baby with the windows open and I never sleep well anymore. The birds are so happy it is nice out that they sang all night long, it was wonderful!
Needless to say I have four furry family members were are extremely happy. My window sills are full once again. I love how their little ears flutter quickly as they listen to all the outdoor sounds...awwww the life of a cat.
Take a moment today to slow down and just listen to the outdoor sounds.

Home Again

Quick trip to Minnesota is where I have been. I couldn't post about it before because I went to surprise my mom. I surprised my kitties by bringing someone back with me...My sil Susan. My kitties were missing me very much and once I got home they had to share me with her and Mickey. You know how jealous they are of her! I love all the attention I am getting from them and I know it will wear off eventually, but I will eat it up for now. This trip was mainly to just be with mom since I felt the last handful of visits she didn't get as many days as others. We did drive into town to get Candi and spent the day with her. I wish it was longer but Candi lives with her Gpa and his daughter was there so there was a change of plans. Short but sweet visit with C' and she will come see us soon again. Well better git the kitties are calling to play!

Dreaming

I caught Minnie dreaming while looking out the window. I can only imagine she is wishing that window was open. It has been raining so much, the other night I thought our house was going to be taken up like in the Wizzard of Oz. Now that it has stopped raining we got some really nice temps, 80's but now the pollen is the problem! I am afraid we won't get window open time very much this year. Poor Minnie she will just have to continue to look out the window and dream about smelling the air and hearing the birds.
