We had a great Thanksgiving! Lots of laughter and singing!
Well some of us had a nice turkey day. Erica's birthday was also on Thanksgiving. (she doesn't like that her birthday is so close to Thanksgiving or sometimes on it.)
Her day was not too good. She had food poisoning! She's a trouper and a great mom. We offered to pick up Mickey but she insisted on driving out. That is a long hour drive I am sure when you're not well.
She spent most of the time in our bed and didn't stay long. Bless her heart.
She did have some energy to open gifts. She didn't want me to take pictures of her on her birthday since she wasn't well I said oh it's just for us I won't post them. Well she won't know about this one little picture since she doesn't follow my blog too often.
Setting up the table! The most important thing is on the table already....LEFSA!
Thursday evening Candi and Mr. Man went to Walmart to get in on some deals. I am not for going shopping on Thanksgiving so I stayed home and they were only gone just over an hour surprisingly but Mr. Man knows some of the ladies there and they showed him what lane to go into . Jackpot!
Friday we just sat around the house watching TV, mostly Hallmark Christmas movies. While Candi spent the day with her friend Amanda.
Then we took Candi out to Joe's Crab Shack for dinner. She loves seafood/shellfish and her boyfriend is allergic so this was a treat to get a steam pot. It was very yummy!
After we were filled up back at home we played a game of Fact or Crap. We laughed so hard it was a lot of fun!
Saturday morning Mr. Man and his girls (Candi and Erica) went to the gun range. I was suppose to go but I woke with my wrist not doing so well. So Mickey and I headed out to do some Christmas shopping. Between online shopping Thursday night and Shopping Saturday morning with Mickey I am done shopping for Mr. Man! Well except to help Santa with his stocking. But I pretty much know what I can tell Santa what he would like.
Saturday afternoon Mr. Man and Mickey went out to the garage so Mickey could pick out a mason jar filled with shells. Some she found on the beach and some we found. She was pretty happy to pick out the pretty ones.
All filled!
We had fun family fondue night! Mickey didn't like it so much so she ended up with mac and cheese. More for us!After dinner we went to Lake Lanier for the festival of lights. It is about a half hour drive looking at beautiful light displays.
At the end of the lights they have a Christmas village with Santa this beaver guy in a Santa costume, gift shop, food and rides. It was a little too cold for rides.
We took picture in front of some pretty trees.
My pretty girlsCandi and Mickey in front of a window display of cheerleaders since Candi was a cheerleader in school and for sometime in college.
Hugging my lil girl! It was a fun evening.
Sunday was a very lazy day for me. My meds knocked me off my feet so my family took over. Mostly Tom and Candi. Candi had quality time with Mickey making our gingerbread house.
They did a beautiful job.
By 5:30 my house was quiet, empty and a little lonely. Erica and Mickey made their way home. Mr. Man took Candi to the airport. I still wasn't 100% so I didn't go along.
I loved having my family all together we had such a wonderful time. Nothing else mattered. All the garbage that is going on in our lives were left outside our door to deal with later at this Thanksgiving holiday we were free just to enjoy each other!
Now it's time to prepare for Christmas! I love the magic of Christmas.
This cute little snowman nutcracker ornament was a gift from my secret sister, I have a little clue she was at last years retreat. I know this because many of the ladies bought these at a little gift shop in town.
This month we get to find out who our secret sisters are, can't wait! I have an idea but could be totally wrong.
Here is Mr. Man's Santa he bought at the Vintage Village Christmas open house I promised to post. We saw a full size one at the Festival of lights that we loved. I should post that one as well...hmmmmEnjoy your day, thanks for the visit!
Hugs,
Tania
