Pretty!

Sorry I haven't kept up with my fun kitty blog, I have so much to tell!

But today I am going to do a quickie post on brushing my kitties.  Some of them love it and some of them avoid me when they see the brush.

Minnie can go both ways but this morning I pulled out the brush and she was first in line.  I'm not sure if she likes the brushing, the attention or the fact I say pretty, pretty with every stroke of the brush.
Poor Jewel she loves to be brushed but today no matter how long I brushed her hair it still looked awful.

She hasn't been doing all that well for a long time and this past week I see a downward change in her.  She has a hard time walking but usually she can make it up the stairs at night to our room for her night night treats but this past week she doesn't even try.  Maybe that is why her hair isn't pretty this brushing.

The other cats...not to be found!  I will get them the next round!

Where are momma's coupons?

I am a quilter but also a scrapbooker.  When I am quilting I say to myself...I love quilting the best, I love to quilt.
When I am scrapbooking I say to myself I love scrapbooking it is my favorite!
I shop/experience Archivers (a scrapbooking store) about once a month.  They are based outta Minnesota and since I am a native of MN I shopped there quite often.  Then they came to GA!
I am signed up on line to get shop coupons which are like gold since Archivers really don't have specials or sales.

So I carefully cut them out and set them aside because I know I will "need" to go there.  BUT just recently I did that and they were GONE!

There are only three stealer's in my home, their names are Minnie, Patches and Piper.  Which ones stole my coupons I carefully printed out and cut out on the lines (cuz I wouldn't want to look bad) and set aside?

There they are, Miss I never do anything wrong, Miss Innocent daddy's girl and I'm the baby. (pic above) (Piper is hard to see since she is black but look off to the right in the back, she's there)
OH I found my coupons scattered on the floor.  I did not put them there.  But as you can see they are not going to own up to what they did!

My cats are like my children, get into things and don't admit to it.  The only exception is my girls grew up but my little furry girls will always try to get away with all they can.............................

But I will always love them.

New Projects

Now that the kitchen walls are done I have moved onto another room that also has wallpaper.  The main floor bathroom.  Thankfully this room is very small.
And I have a little helper who keeps reminding me that she is helping mimi.
Mr. Man is afraid that if I keep having her help me remove wallpaper she may go into someones home that has wallpaper and start removing it.
The wallpaper was easy to remove and the border came off in one complete piece.  Now the question once again is color.  Mickey said it should be purple, a girl after my own heart.
My other project I have started is in these two photos, these are quilts done in a quilt shop I now am in the process of the red work.

Let me go back to last summer.  The new issue of Quilt Sampler Shop Hop magazine came out and I saw this beautiful quilt shop with a beautiful quilt and also saw this was at a quilt shop in Iowa which I was going to be traveling through in September and I would be in that general area!

It was meant to be!  Now the quilt shop owners in the Midwest are very picky about taking pictures in the quilt shop but I did get permission to take these only if I was buying the pattern and the kit which I did, so these are those pictures.
The same quilt that was in the magazine.  I love this quilt!
So once I got home and admired the way they packaged the kit I lovingly put it on a shelf.

That was almost a year ago.  Until last Friday the women who come in once a month to the shop to sit and stitch was picking out background fabric to do this exact quilt.  I told her I also had that pattern but I had bought the kit that the shop had put together.  She was very interested in the fabrics that were in my kit and asked me to help her pick out her background fabric.

Well it got me thinking about my little purchase from last year and went home and pulled it out and yep I started it.  BUT not until I first finished the redwork I was working on.  Funny how you can get something done quickly when you see something else you want to do.

I am so excited to complete this quilt for Christmas.  I would like to have it on our bed which means I will need to pay someone to quilt it since piecing it and hand quilting it would put me way past Christmas.

I am still working on my fall quilt, hand quilting it and it is coming along nicely.  I figure if I can quilt one square a night then the border I should have it done by the end of August.  We will see.  Great goal though.

Now I got to get cleaning the house so I can work on my projects!

What color is your bathroom?

Testing, testing

Hello!  Well I seem to still have space to upload pictures on this site for a while at least.  I would hate to redirect my traffic  back to The Cats In but I may have to blog from here, which I like this blog title the best anyway.

Todays photo is of a picture I found at an antique store and thought how perfect next to my funky cat dishes.  Mr. Man had to cut down the bottom so it could fit but it didn't ruin the picture I don't think.

I will have to do a photo tour of my funky cats again I did it once before but deleted when I made the decision not to continue with The Cat's In.

In the meanwhile I will be using this blog at least until I decide what to do.  I hope you don't mind.

Thanks for stopping by and please leave comments I would love to hear from you!

Oh No Minnie

Look what Minnie did so she could lay in the bottom shelf!

Piper did that not long ago to another shelving unit, pushed everything off of it to lay on it.

Those kitties!

Rise and Shine!

I wanted to share with my blog land friends how I wake up many mornings.

I just don't want to get out of bed when my girls are gathered around my legs.

Piper's Basket?

Sooooo today I stopped by the shop to drop off a sample for our Christmas in July event which you can read about that here and here and after I left the shop I went to one of my favorite antique shops and found this great basket.

Once home again and unloading my new treasures Miss Piper decided she liked the basket!  She's so cute!  Now it will be hard for me to use it because she likes to lay in it.  Maybe...

We're Home

What I miss the most when we are on vacation is the cats.  I'm always thinking they are wondering where we are.

But when we return it is always the same wonderful welcome from them and they can't get enough love and attention.

Minnie woke me to love her up four times the first night and Piper twice.  Since we have been home for a little over a week now it is probably only once a night or once every other night which I am thankful for but do miss ALL the attention I was getting.

We are all back to our regular routines for now.  Planning a trip to Tybee Island in August and NYC in September but they are really never alone especially with our little Mickey in the house!

Excuse me Piper

Since we celebrated father's day on Saturday, Mr. Man was in agreement that we hang out at home since we will be very busy come next weekend.
I decided to use my time in my sewing room and work on our anniversary quilt since I haven't touch it in a week.
Piper decided she needed to be with me.  See how close she is?  She is in my way some of the time and if I try to get a pin she tries to bite me, excuse me Piper?!
I have been using these pins as of late because I can't remember where I put my good pins!  I know they are somewhere in my mess.
I can't have my pin cushion out because Piper and Patches pull them out with their teeth and shake their heads and spit them out all over the place.  I'm afraid they may get one down their throat so no more pin cushion unless I am right there.
CATS!  Gotta love 'em!
